Just acquired the YZF600 from a kid in Montana who bought it as his first bike. Was scared to ride it and put only 47 miles on it in a month. Fits my physical size well, WAY faster than I'll ever need/want/use, and was in good condition when I purchased... not the norm for me.
The previous bike I owned was a 1991 Suzuki GSF400 (Bandit). The back-story is that it was moved to Denver, where it got abandoned at a dealership for a LONG peroid of time, with parts pulled off and lots of sun aging happening. Someone bought the bike with intentions of resurecting it, but it never happened. So now I have a fairly neglected, parts missing bike to rebuild... but it's mostly complete. Should be a fun project. Sold to a brand new rider in Salt Lake City on 10/21/07.
Both the EX250 and VFR were rescued from the brink - the 250 had been mud-bogged, the rear tire burnt through 7 layers of cords and almost not a single straight/undamaged piece on the bike. It did errand duty for me and was my fiance's learner bike ~ eventually sold to another new rider in Las Vegas.
The VFR had been in pieces for 4 years when I stumbled across it. I took several weeks putting everything back together and getting it into the condition it's in now.
I've been refered to as a Rennissance Man because I dable in a little bit of everything. I'm a professionally trained motorcycle mechanic, I've worked IT for many years, I brew my own beer, cook 90% of the meals in my home and will tinker with Anything. I'm always open to helping other people learn more about bikes as they've been my passion for over a decade. For those who want to know a little more about my personality, I'm a "INTJ" (not sure what that means? Google it! :D ) |
