Comment by Daryl: 1989 Ninja 250 Original engine valves burnt up and would not start at 34,000 mile, replaced with 1999 engine paid $260 for it of e-Bay.(valves was adjusted properly at every 8,000miles)

Comment by Andrew Duthie: No major repairs? Hell, hardly any major maintenance, either. One valve adjustment (thanks, Duke!), one chain (d'oh!), some tires, some oil... Yeah, that's about all of it. (Oh -- I'm at 21,000 miles at the moment. Kinda slacked off after year 2.)

Comment by Eric R: I'm almost scared to answer this poll. My '99 is now past the known minimum engine life (~30K), quality of maint. by the two PO's is pretty much unknown, but it's been awfully infrequently serviced by me... Guess I'll find out just how tough this little engine is.

Comment by Jeb: My red bike has over 40K on it, and is still running strong. Put about 20K on my black bike before putting it up for sale, and it already had over 10K on it before I got it; still starts right up and pulls strongly as well.
